Mold

Penicillium has several different molds in its family. These species adapt easily to the growth conditions inside a building and develop well on wet building materials.

Chaetomium are common types of mold. They are widespread in the soil and on plant matter, when they’re in their decomposition.

This type of mold is obviously striking because it is filamentous fungi of different sizes and shapes.

Aspergillus fumigatus is a fungus that grows in humid environments, also on building materials containing cellulose, but is proliferating mainly on organic substrates in indoor environments such as house dust.

Watch for Stachybotrys carefully, especially if your home has excess humidity, water infiltration or has been flooded. Stachybotrys is a type of mold that grows in very humid conditions.
