HOMEPAGE | ABOUT MOLD | CHAETOMINIUM

Chaetominium

Chaetomium are common types of mold. They are widespread in the soil and on plant matter, when they’re in their decomposition. However, you can find some in the air too, but not as much.

Moreover, Chaetomium is also known as a rotten timber agent for both softwoods and hardwoods.

Indoors, this mold live on cellulose and can be found on wood, gypsum board, compost, straw and similar materials.

Growing between 16 and 25 degrees, we also find Chaetomium indoors on a variety of substrates such as documentary archives, wallpaper, textiles and building materials
